  • VXRLabs: Free, Group Learning Labs in Virtual Reality

VXRLabs are individual learning labs focused on specific core subjects. Each lab welcomes a group of students along with an educator or a single student on a mission to learn while doing. In this pursuit, virtual reality allows a student and their classmates to enter into a classroom that is created without the traditional bounds of four walls. Currently available for the Meta Quest, additional headsets will follow, including Vive, Windows and Pico. These are the current labs:

Step 1: Open the Oculus store and search for VXRLabs Biology, VXRLabs Labyrinth, or VXRLabs Journey to Civil Rights.

Step 2:  You will see that this is available in app labs. Press the “View App” button.

Step 3: Click on the app to open it

Step 4: Click the Download button.

Students learn about anatomy, biology and human organ interactions. Additional rooms will add mammalian and animal dissections. Available Now for FREE!

Students enter the king’s labyrinth where they navigate a mind-baffling maze and ten harrowing gates. The only way to successfully find the king’s lair is to answer questions correctly at each of the gates – if the student can find the gate. The King’s Labyrinth launches with three potential learning activities: 1) critical thinking with brain puzzlers, 2) art history and 3) human anatomy review. Available Now for FREE!

Students begin their journey on La Amistad Slave ship understanding the story of the kidnapped Africans and how they overthrew their captors to gain their freedom. The journey continues to the Underground Railroad and Harriet Tubman and ends at the bridge in Selma where the 1965 Civil Rights marches began. Available Now for FREE!

Chemistry experiments are allowed in school again! While many chemistry experiments have been banned due to their dangerous nature, students can again experiment with explosive elements in the safety of a virtual reality classroom. Coming soon.
